High-Level International Institutional Visits Conducted in Valencia within the DigiStep Project

Within the framework of the “DigiStep: Taking a Digital Step Towards the Future” project, one of Europe’s pioneering initiatives in social innovation and education led and coordinated by Turkey, an extensive institutional visit program was organized in Spain. Our high-level delegation—comprising chief prosecutors, supreme court judges, senior judicial and penitentiary officials, educational directors, engineers, and social intervention experts—visited various institutions in the Valencia region to conduct detailed examinations.

The visit program included the following key stops to examine education and resocialization models on-site:
1) Education and Employment: A visit was made to CIPFP Ciudad del Aprendiz, a reference center where the link between vocational training and employability was examined.
2) Prison Education Models: Technical inspections were carried out at the Presentación Sáez Prison Education Center and Picassent Prison to evaluate the role of education as a key tool for social reintegration.
3) Parliamentary Reception: Our delegation was officially received by the President of the Valencian Parliament at Les Corts Valencianes; several strategic meetings were also held with state-level authorities and institutions.

Our project offers a comprehensive model aimed at the dignified and effective reintegration of incarcerated individuals into society and the workforce in a world marked by digitalization. The cornerstones of this model consist of digital inclusion, social competence, and creative tools. The DigiStep project represents a powerful collaboration in which Turkey serves as the driving force and coordinator, shaped by the strategic partnership of Spain and Lithuania.
